Initial Meeting and Client Brief

At the beginning of every project is our initial client meeting. We aim to gather as much information about the client as we can. We want to understand their priorities, their likes and dislikes so that we can deliver a design that is tailor-made to their aspirations and enhances their lifestyle.

Preparation

During this phase we will arrange for surveyed drawings which are done by a building surveyor; these will show the status quo of the property and will serve us as the basis of our designs. We will also coordinate any planning permissions, compile a team of specialists that might be required and start preparing a programme of works.

Moodboards

To complement our concept phase, we will make an initial selection of finishes and materials and present them to our client. At this stage we show our clients mood boards so we can assess what finishes and colour the client prefers.

These provide us with a direction to run with and develop the design further.

Concept Design

Once we have understood our clients’ requirements, it’s time to get creative. The concept could be related to the clients’s lifestyle, design details, artwork or images of textures or materials that may serve as the source of inspiration. We will present our refined concept to the client: this will include layouts and spatial planning options, three-dimensional sketches for the overall look and style that will establish both the interior architecture as well as the decorative style of the project. All this will set the scene and be the foundation for the remainder of the design. If an architect is on board as well, we will collaborate with the team before moving onto the next phase.

Once the client has signed off the Concept Design, it will allow us to move on to the next phase, the Detail Design.

Detail Design

While we are focusing on developing the details even further, we will have started to compile detailed schedules that will accompany our detailed design intent drawings that include plans and elevations, all relevant to issue these to tender.

Our design intent drawings will ensure that all relevant parties are very clear about our intentions and form basis to a specialist drawings.

Specification, FF&E and Procurement

We will specify and procure all sanitary and brassware, finishes, electrics, ironmongery, FF&E and accessories. All relevant details will be meticulously listed for simple cross-referencing, so that third parties or specialist manufacturing items receive all relevant information.

We will produce a detailed estimate document for the client to approve; once everything is approved we will move on to procuring all items, ensuring that they are not only fit for their intended use, but also on site when they are needed.

Site Monitoring & Completion

During the construction phase will visit site on a regular basis to oversee work carried out by the contractors; we will report back to the client about the progress of all the works. We will also meet with subcontractors and third party specialists where necessary.

We believe that attention to detail is paramount during the installation which is why we will always be present when they occur. Before we hand the property back, we will make sure that all of the snagging is done to our and our client’s satisfaction.
